He was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Smithport, Indiana Co. PA. Formerly a member of the Fairview United Brethern Church

He was married to Mary Edna Lowmaster (daughter of Thomas A. Lowmaster and Rosella Emerick) on 20 FEB 1932. Mary Edna Lowmaster was born on 5 DEC 1907 in Banks Twp. Indiana Co PA. She died on 25 JAN 1995 in Indiana, Indiana Co., PA. She was buried on 28 JAN 1995 in Pine Grove Cemetary, Rochester Mills, Indiana Co., PA.
