3. Matthias States was born on 27 JAN 1748 in Huntington, Huntingdon Co., PA. 29 JAN 1748 ? He died in 1829. There are three different storys of Matthias States arrival in Lockport Westmoreland Co. PA in about 1790.

1) Matthias States was the son of Adam States from Greenwich, Connecticut, However, there is no proof that this is the same person.

2) It is writen that Matthias States immigrated to America in 1773 from Hesse-Castle Germany, where he settled in 1790 in Lockport, Westmoreland Co., PA., or Huntington Co., PA.

Did he participate in the Revolutionary War.

He was married to Jane Elizabeth Clawson in 1776/77 in Westmoreland, PA. Jane Elizabeth Clawson was born. Matthias States and Jane Elizabeth Clawson had the following children:
